Spanish camp in Alicante
DESCRIPCIÓN DEL CAMPAMENTO
Spanish Camp in Alicante is a summer camp aimed at young people from 11 to 17 years old who wish to improve their level of Spanish in an ideal holiday destination such as Alicante, and have fun playing sports or doing artistic and cultural activities together with children of their age from other countries.
At Spanish Camp in Alicante, the main objective is to have fun while learning Spanish and to enrich themselves by socialising with young people from other countries.
The children will have 4 hours of Spanish in the mornings, from Monday to Friday. After lunch, they will join the foreign participants of the Spanish camp to spend the rest of the day together. In the afternoons they will enjoy doing sports or preparing a musical with theatre workshops, dance and handcrafts, among other activities.
Alicante has a fantastic Mediterranean climate and the average summer temperature is around 30ºC, so the youngsters will enjoy the beach and the swimming pool. In addition, at weekends they will enjoy interesting trips to nice places in the area.
They will be permanently accompanied by our staff 24 hours a day, who will look after them and ensure their safety. Ratio 1 monitor for 10 people.
All the activities are especially aimed at encouraging the interrelation of Spanish young people with foreigners, thus guaranteeing interculturality and avoiding groups by nationality.
This is a 2-3 week program, where foreign youngsters will live and interact with Spanish youngsters, who are present in our other Spanish camp. In addition, our camp offers a high standard of quality, which is reflected in the first class facilities (e.g. single rooms with private bathroom in a university residence), Spanish lessons with native teachers, expert staff and teachers in all leisure activities, small groups and personalized attention…

ALIMENTACIÓN
- Full board with 3 meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Meals will be homemade and varied, although mainly Spanish cuisine. In this way, we broaden the cultural experience of the young people and guarantee gastronomic immersion.
- We have menus adapted for diabetics, coeliacs, allergy sufferers, food intolerants… (Please request when booking).

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
MORNINGS
4 hours of Spanish lessons everyday. Monday to Friday. With highly qualified and experienced native Spanish teachers.
The young learners will take a level test prior to their trip, in order to determine whether they belong to one of the 3 existing levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced.
In the first half of the morning, they will work on more theoretical content (grammar, vocabulary, phonetics, spelling, writing, dictation, reading texts…) while, in the second half, they will change teachers for more practical and fun activities (didactic games, conversation, verbal expression…).
The classrooms are located 50 metres from the residence and are fully equipped with all the audiovisual equipment necessary for teaching.
IN THE AFTERNOON
From 16:00 to 20:00, the young people will attend the activities previously chosen:
SPORTS CAMP: 4 hours per day (2 different sports each day), including football, beach volleyball and track volleyball, tennis, paddle tennis, rugby, flag football, climbing wall, handball, athletics, field hockey and indoor hockey…
MULTI-ARTISTIC CAMP: 4 hours per day (2 different activities each day) where our participants will prepare a theatre-musical piece by means of these 3 disciplines:
– Theatre: theatrical performance techniques, body movement and memorisation of short texts and songs in Spanish.
– Choreographic dance: they will prepare the dances for the musical.
– Crafts: they will make a large part of the props (costumes and decorative elements for the stage).
This musical will be performed on the last night at the end-of-camp party in front of their classmates and we will record it so that they have a souvenir of this fun activity.
One afternoon a week will be dedicated to having fun in an aquatic environment, either in the swimming pool or on the beach.
On Friday afternoons there will be a cultural visit to a nearby place such as Alicante, Elche… or a fun activity (gymkhana around the campus, bowling, paintball, shopping…).
WEEKENDS
Excursions to the most interesting places in the province of Alicante (Benidorm, amusement parks such as Terra Mítica, water parks such as Aqualandia, Guadalest, Altea, Tabarca…).
Taking advantage of Alicante’s wonderful climate, we will also enjoy its fantastic sandy beaches, where youngsters will have fun playing beach volleyball or practising water sports such as surfing, kayaking, paddle surfing…
OUTSTANDING ACTIVITIES
Relationships between young Spaniards and foreigners. They will share a lot of time together and will do many activities together.
4 hours of Spanish classes per day with native teachers.
Leisure activities (sports or art&culture) chosen according to the tastes of the young people and taught by experts in each subject.
2 full-day and 4 half-day excursions (including beach and swimming pool).

Alicante: we will visit the Castle of Santa Barbara, Paseo de la Explanada in front of the marina, the Provincial Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ).
Elche: it is the second most important city in the province and has historical elements of great interest and two World Heritage Sites. We will visit the Palmeral, the basilica of Santa Maria or the historic centre.
Caves of Canelobre: A set of caves more than 145 million years old, you will be fascinated by their beauty!
Nougat Museum: Did you know that Xixona is the birthplace of nougat? We can learn about the history of this typical Christmas sweet.
Fuentes del Algar: a natural spot with waterfalls, pools and natural pools.
Chocolate Factory and Museum: This is a cultural and sweet visit to the most important chocolate company in Spain.

Participants will stay in a cozy university residence, with each person having their own single room equipped with a private bathroom.
If the camper is accompanied by a family member or friend, we will place them in adjoining rooms for convenience.
Our English summer camp is located in Alicante, specifically in the vicinity of the University of Alicante.
With its prime location just 100 meters from the university campus, 15 km from the beach, and 15 km from the airport, the camp offers excellent connectivity to other cities and countries, making it a highly strategic spot.
